So many of us wish that we could sing the way we hear other people sing, but we are quick to criticise our own vocal ability or talent. But just as all of us can speak, all of us can sing. Your voice is an instrument and learning to use it well is just like learning any other instrument. With practice and correct instruction you can improve the quality of your singing voice and get the most out of your natural vocal ability.

Where can you learn singing in Geelong?

A vocal microphone in the studio at Take 5 Music in Geelong.

If you are interested in learning to sing, or taking your skills to another level, Take5 Music can offer lessons in singing and vocal technique from beginners to advanced singers looking to improve their technique or hone their performance and songwriting skills.

In your lessons, you will learn by singing the music you love and by singing and playing together with your teacher, accompanied by piano and guitar.  You'll learn classical Italian vocal technique to make sure you use your voice safely and effectively. If you're interested in learning an instrument, or if you can already play, you'll be able to sing and develop your vocal technique as you play.

Theory is an integral part of learning music and becoming a vocalist, but Pino teaches theory by integrating it with singing of songs and scales. Key concepts will be gradually introduced as you learn to keep it interesting and relevant to you.

If you are an experienced vocalist, we will assess your technique and work on strengthening any gaps in your technique and theory. You'll be encouraged and challenged to sharpen your technique, broaden your repertoire and improve notation reading, but we'll also work on developing your musicianship and creativity as a vocalist. We can also help you to develop your performance and songwriting skills.

Singing lessons are available for all ages. Contact us to discuss your individual interests and needs.
